TDAC: Here’s What You Need to Know about Thailand Digital Arrival Card for Travelers

TDAC

Traveling to Thailand just became a bit more streamlined—but it also requires some preparation. Starting May 1, 2025, all travelers entering Thailand—whether by air, land, or sea—will need to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) prior to arrival.

This new system replaces the familiar TM6 paper form and aims to modernize the country’s immigration process, improving efficiency while enhancing security at border checkpoints.

What Is the TDAC?

The Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is a mandatory online registration form that must be filled out within 72 hours before your arrival in the Kingdom. Once submitted, travelers receive a QR code that they’ll need to show at the immigration checkpoint upon entry.

The form requires basic travel and personal details. Flight number, accommodation, and passport information – similar to what was previously required with the TM6.

Why the Change?

Thailand’s Immigration Bureau is embracing digital transformation to reduce paperwork, speed up immigration procedures, and provide better data management for border control. The TDAC is expected to help reduce processing times and offer a smoother experience for both tourists and returning residents.

How to Submit TDAC

The process is simple:

  1. Go to https://tdac.immigration.go.th
  2. Complete the required form within 72 hours of your arrival.
  3. Save your QR code—either print it or keep it ready on your phone.
  4. Present the QR code to immigration officials when you arrive.

TDAC – A Word of Advice

Make sure to fill out the TDAC on time—airlines and immigration officers may request confirmation before allowing entry. And double-check all information before submitting, as incorrect details could lead to delays.

For frequent travelers, real estate investors, and digital nomads, this change is part of a broader shift toward digital efficiency in Thailand’s travel infrastructure.

Final Thoughts

Thailand is welcoming more visitors than ever. The TDAC is a small but important step toward modernizing travel. If you’re planning a trip – or thinking of moving here – stay informed and be prepared.
